Blogtal.com (blog portal) is a place where bloggers share their posts .Bloggers can share their posts here where all pings to Blogtal.com will be categorized into related interests or categories. Bloggers can find other people’s posts of their interest here too.
This project took me about two months to finsih… from reading specification to writing code. I only do my coding work during my spare time. This site is written fully in PHP, MYSQL as it backend database and no third part’s plugin is used.
The site has been tested online for a few days, it might still have bugs. Thanks to blog.enrii and Boredworkers.com as the site’s tester.
At first, I was thinking to use the standalone implementation of trackback from movabletype (which is free and wrtten in perl) but it has too little control. Thus, I decided to develop my own implementation from the trackback specifaction.
Here are some of the interesting features of the site:
* Multiple trackbacks per user account.
* Unique trackback url for each blog profile
* Trackback pings are filed under blog profile and a category/interest.
* Own developed trackback interface to reduce duplicated trackback pings and to reduce spams.
This is an ongoing project, so more more features will be integrated… but it will take time :)
