I always want to start an electronic project that build a home automation system but I don’t have much time. Don’t have time is just a bad excuse. So to make thing starts, I start buying electronic components and devices that I need and trying them one by one.
iPhone 5 is coming to Malaysia – This 14th December
Apple has finally announced that the iPhone 5 will be arriving in Malaysia in this 14th December 2012. I think this is pretty confirm. Hopefully it will appear in store as soon as possible as I’m thinking to get one.
New Table for My Computer Room
Bought a new computer table (a DIY type) at a furniture shop near Sri Sentosa. It is not too bad if compared to Ikea’s. It cost only RM170 and has three roller drawers with one key lock. It took about two man hours to assemble the whole thing. Luckily today is a holiday else I will be too tired. :D
MacBook Air Unboxing
Year 2011, first gadget: MacBook Air! First time using MacBook as my primary computer. It takes some time to get familiar  with the keyboard (with the additional keys like command and option on the keyboard) and the Mac OS X. I think this is a great notebook if you want the portability.
The MacBook Air is so light, solid, slim and sexy. Mac OS X is quite stable, responsive and smooth. The greatest things in this OS that Apple has port from iPad or iPhone are the App Store for Mac (although not much now) and the multi-touch function.
Uninstalling an application is so simple that you simply drag it in to the trash (just like how you click the X button to uninstall a program in iPhone or iPad). Not need to worry about things left behind by the application as there is no registry in Mac OS X (basically the Unix OS).
I have also installed Windows 7 in a virtual machine in (VirtualBox and it is free!) Mac OS X. So far I didn’t encounter any major problem. Windows 7 performance so far is acceptable as I only use it to run Microsoft Office and browse website with require active X. [Read more…]
iPhone 4
Bought an iPhone 4 last week and now I’m having fun with it. Initially I was helping my brother to buy this phone, I think this phone will slowly become mine :) Haha like it too much.
I bought this phone at the Digi store at SohoKL near Mont Kiara. I took the RM58 package and I am broke again this few months (I haven’t pay off the installment for my previous HTC phone.
First impression on this phone: it’s so smooth, a lot much better than windows mobile phone and no “lagging” feel at all; nice screen and color; very smart on-screen keyboard; a lot of useful and creative software available on the apple store and etc.
