Uninstalling IE8

Do you use Internet Explorer with Maybank2u’s online stock? I’m having problem to load all the drop down menus in IE8 when I’m in Maybank2u’s online stock home page, thus I can’t see my stock profiles, transaction histories and etc. I guess it is a bugs in IE8 because even using the “Compatible View” feature in IE8 does not help.

Uninstalling IE8 is not as straight forward as unstalling standard program as it is installed as a Windows Update. If you facing Â the same problem and thinking to uninstall IE8, you can refer to “How to uninstall IE8 in Windows Vista“.

Equity Liberalisation – Removal of 30% Bumiputra Equity Requirement for 27 Services Sub-sector

Prime Minister,Â Datuk Seri Najib Tun RazakÂ has announced the removal of 30% bumiputra equity requirement for 27 services sub-sector on Wednesday(22/04/09). What do you think?

Personal I think it is a good news, this will create a more fair, open and competitive business enviroment. This will also attract more foreign investor to invest in local company. I also don’t think the bumiputera will fail in this case and many of them have the ability to competeÂ nowadays.

Income tax – Few More Days to Go

Have you submitted you income tax filing? If not or you are facing problem in filling income tax form, you can read The Star’s “Tips on filing your income tax“.

Income Tax – PCB for Last Year

The deadline for submitting income tax filing BE2008 is coming, so I’m trying to finalize my tax filing.

Some of you may receive bonus for 2007 in year 2008 but hasn’t decalred the income, you will need to fill the detail in “INCOME OF PRECEDING YEARS NOT DECLARED” / “PENDAPATAN TAHUN KEBELAKANGAN YANG BELUM DILAPORKAN” section. While I’m filling this section, I don’t see any field for the PCB that I had paid for the preceding years.

Therefore I dropped an email to Â HLDN and within a day, this is their reply:

Please note that only PCB for 2008 should appear in BE 2008.
You can write in to the branch which handles your income tax file
regarding PCB for bonus 2007.

So you will need to send a letter to the branch that handles your income tax file for the PCB of preceding years so that you can make any claim back if you eligible to.

Public Mutual Online Experience

I did make some investments in Public Mutual’s unit trust, therefore I’ll need an online account that make my Â investment easier. Applying a Public Mutual online account is pretty easy and the application approval and response from Public Mutual is pretty fast too. Currently you can only buy new unit trust and add additional investment to your existing unit trust via Public Mutual Online. I believe feature like switching funds and selling funds will be available soon in near future.
