If you haven’t registered for online filling, you can register one at e-Filing website and follow the instruction on the website to submit your income tax filing.
Below is a list of items that most people will entitle to relief:
- Self relief – RM8,000 (Everyone will be entitled to this automatically);
- Medical expenses – RM5,000 (include RM500 max for medical exambination);
- Wife/husband relief – RM3,000 (combine assessment);
- Child relief – RM1,000 per child (below 18); RM5,000 (Disable child);RM4,000 (above 18 and studying in colleges and universities);
- Life insurance + EPF – RM6,000 max;
- Medical & Education insurance – RM3,000 (max);
- Fees for acquiring technical, vocational, industrial, scientific, technological,law,accounting,islamic,financing,skills at tertiary level or post graduate level – RM5,000 (max);
- Purchase of books (excluding newspaper or banned publication) – RM1,000
- Purchase of sports equipment – RM300.
