Yesterday was my birthday. Thanks to my friends who send me birthday greetings. I received more greetings from Facebook than SMS or phone calling. The world is changing. Facebook is now the more useful tool to connect each other.
Replace Identification Card
I went to Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara today early morning to replace my identification card (Kad Pengenalan) at Petaling Jaya. Maybe I went there earlier, so the whole process only took less than 15 minutes.
The process is pretty simple, go to ticket counter and say you want to do a card replacement and take a number, no need to fill in any form if you doesn’t need to change the details on the card. Wait until the number to be called, pay Rm10 processing fees. Then wait again to be called for taking photo.
After that, wait for about 10 days to check for the status online via JPN website, via SMS or call them. That’s it.
Kota Kinabalu 3D2N
I went to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah last week for 3 days 2 nights. Once I reached the airport I was taken by my friend to take the software specification at a tour company.
No time to walk around at Kota Kinabalu. The second days also went to the company to take additional specification and talked about other issues. Then took my dinner at Jesselton Point at night. Not a bad place to have dinner.

My impression to Kota Kinabalu is – many cars, a lot of Hakka, Philippians … I think I may need go there again in near future …
Back From The Big Bad Book Sale
Just back from The Big Bad Book Sale at Amcorp Mall. A lot of people in the sale hall. There is no shopping cart, so some of book addicts take empty boxes and carry around while they shop for their favorite books.
Had been there for about 2 hours, I also bought myself some books, 3 technical books and 3 business related and self motivate books:
- Essential Mathematics for Games and Interactive Applications, Second Edition: A Programmer’s Guide
(RM15)
- 3D Game Engine Architecture: Engineering Real-Time Applications with Wild Magic (The Morgan Kaufmann Series in Interactive 3D Technology)
(RM20)
- Engineering a Compiler
(RM20)
- Buffett: The Making of an American Capitalist
(RM10)
- The One Minute Millionaire: The Enlightened Way to Wealth
(RM10)
- The Rules of Entrepreneurship (The Rules of . . . series)
(RM10)
Thinking to go there once more at earlier time the next two days to get more business related or self motivated books.
Did you buy any book there?
Other than the book sale, there are some booths at the ground floor selling iPhone for only RM499. According to the saleswoman, the iPhone is real and imported from Singapore. By looking at the quality of the screen and resolution and the speed of menu navigation, I don’t think it is the real one.
GSC Cinema at IOI Mall
I went to watch the movie “The Poker King” with a friend yesterday at GSC Cinema at IOI Mall. Although the ticket price is cheap (RM8.50) but the cinema give me a bad impression.
When I reached there, only one ticket counter and one reservation counter were opened. Although there was not much people there but the queue was long at the ticket counter and the queue was moving extremely slow.
When the movie started, the screen in the cinema was showing lines. It looks like the lens of the projector is not cleaned. Besides, the sound from the speaker was crappy.
Do you experience the same at IOI GSC Cinema?
